Accessibility statement

How we work to make hhei.org.uk usable by everyone, and how to tell us when it falls short.

Our commitment

The Hormonal Health Equity Initiative CIC is committed to making hhei.org.uk accessible in line with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. Equity is the work, so the website that represents the work needs to reflect it.

What we have done

  • Semantic HTML landmarks on every page (header, navigation, main, footer).
  • Visible keyboard focus on all interactive elements.
  • Skip-to-content link at the top of every page.
  • Colour contrast tested against WCAG 2.2 AA across our wine and pale-linen palette.
  • Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images and aria-labels on icon-only controls.
  • Forms with associated labels, clear error messages, and accessible names.
  • Pages render and function with JavaScript disabled for core content delivery.
  • Responsive layouts that work at 200% browser zoom and on small mobile screens.

Known limitations

We test continuously, but no website is perfect. Areas we are still improving:

  • Some downloadable PDFs (white papers and briefings) are not yet fully tagged for screen readers. We will publish an accessible HTML version alongside any PDF on request.
  • Embedded scheduling (Calendly) and any other third-party widgets are not under our direct control. If you encounter a barrier, contact us and we will arrange the same outcome by email or phone.

Tell us if something is broken

If any page, document or interaction is hard to use, please email info@hhei.org.uk with the page address and a short description of the problem. We aim to respond within 5 working days.

Enforcement

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing accessibility regulations in the UK. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the EHRC via equalityadvisoryservice.com.

Technical standard

This site is built to conform with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Self-assessment is ongoing. A formal third-party audit will be commissioned once the site reaches a stable feature set; this statement will be updated when that audit is complete.
